Kate, Say It Isn't So.............

Did you ever watch one of those TV shows where at the end, the network runs a disclaimer that goes something likes this:

"No animals were hurt in the filming of this show" ????

Well, I think TLC needs to run a similar disclaimer at the end of every "JON & KATE PLUS 8" episode that might go something like this:

"No children were hurt in the filming of this show"

I think it's time for TLC to pull the plug.

Do the right thing.

What do you think?

Today's a Lazy Day........

It's one of those "we could do this", "we could do that", kind of days, which almost always turns into a "we did nothing" kind of day.

Everyone at work has been talking about their gardens and their plants, especially their vegetable plants. The month of May get's so busy with Feis stuff, that I forget to go out and buy a tomato plant and by the time I get to it, nothing is ever left.

So, "we could do that"!

It's supposed to rain today; actually, I thought I'd wake up to pouring rain and thunderstorms....but nothing! The other house needs the chimney repaired and the foundation painted and we were going to go over and do that if it didn't rain.

So, "we could do that"!

We were hoping that if it did rained, it might stop by evening. Angels and Demons is opening at the theatre this weekend and it's playing at a drive-in near our house and we've been wanting to get to a drive-in for forever. Just the novelty of it makes it fun and interesting and it only takes ONE time a year to get your drive-in fix. Angels and Demons is definitely a movie to see at the theatre.

So, "we might do that"!

Maybe tomorrow, I'll report that we did nothing at all - stay tuned!

Happy Birthday, Baby Girl

Who's not really a baby anymore since it was 27 years ago!

I was searching through some pictures of kClare when she was little and I came across this one of Cheryl and kClare that was taken in 1983 at the 80th birthday party for our Grandmother. It made me smile so I thought I'd pass it along to you. It's a scan of a print, so the quality isn't that great, but the smiles are!

But, I also found this one of kClare with her sister taken November 1983. They were pretending they were painting at a time when Lude and I were doing some painting around the house.
Wish we could be there to give you a Birthday hug......LOVE YOU

All the News that's Fit to Blog........

I forgot to tell you that one of the houses in our development was damaged when the newly delivered mulch caught fire!! How crazy, freaky is that? I guess it's not uncommon and the conditions have to be just right......fresh mulch, two days of 85 degrees and some sort of spark! I guess the fireman said it could have been enough glare on the back window to reflect down and create a spark.....sort of like what we used to do with a magnifying glass and a piece of notebook paper out on the playground at school!!

The result????

Okay, Okay Already......I'm Back......

I just told Paula yesterday, I haven't posted lately because I haven't had much to say.
Is that an oxymoron (me with nothing to say)? Or just moronic?

We got heavy-busy with "Feis" stuff and I haven't had much time to think about posting. Then, Liz's wedding weekend came and everything just spiraled out of control.

Paula and John came to visit yesterday on their return trip to New Jersey from Michigan. I had my camera out and ready and do you think I thought to use it? I'm really slipping! We enjoy spending time with them; we've come to consider them good friends. Paula and Lude work together and John and I, we just go along for the ride! Actually, we know WE steer the boat, but we let THEM think they do!
And, speaking of boats.......we're going to sail together again in the fall and I can't wait. John will tell you that he's not too excited about our itinerary, but I know deep inside he's dying to get there! He's being a good sport about going up through New England and into Canada in the fall. So, "weather, don't fail us now!" It's a good time to go though, we have lots of birthdays and anniversaries to celebrate and any chance to celebrate should be taken!

kClare has finished up her first year at ISU and I think she's happy to have her first year behind her. She begins already this week at the Illinois Shakespeare Theatre working on costumes there and she's pretty excited. She's assistant designer for A Midsummer Night's Dream. Check it out at

Jess is sailing from NYC to Bermuda and back and returns to Cleveland around the 14th of June. She's headed once again for Chicago after that.
Dad and I visited PJ & Judy in Little Rock and helped with their Feis. It was, as always, a wonderful visit. Here's a few pictures from that weekend....again, I didn't take hardly any pictures while I was there - that's weird for me.

Pictures are:

Judy's Dance School logo; Dad taking it easy while PJ works in the kitchen; Judy getting some feis stuff out of the way; Judy helping Chris lay the dance flooring on the stage for the competitions; Mackenzie in her dance dress.

The hummingbirds are back and as always a delight to watch. We've been out hitting golf balls when the weather is nice and I can't wait to get back to it. Of course, I'll never be going up against JuJu and I won't ever be golfing at Cheryl's course....but we're getting better and we have fun and I think that's the whole idea. Work, reducing my hours and moving to the new branch remains the best thing I could have done, work-wise. I would recommend it to anyone who had the opportunity. I hope that L's workplace remains stable.....assuming can be a learning experience! I have a niece and nephew graduating from High School this year and they are very excited. Lauren's going to UofToledo to their pharmacy program and Owen is headed for his beloved BW for I'm not sure which program, but a business degree is so "him". I'll have to find out.

OK....the Bookshelf's Back..........

One widget at a time, I guess!!!!

Check out the books I've been reading............I've enjoyed them all.
