The Dublin Irish Festival

Is my new favorite !

What a great time we had. Uncle Bernie and Aunt Maureen, Cheryl, Kelly and I drove down on Saturday morning. We hung at the Feis for a little while and then headed over to the Festival.

..........I told you in an earlier post that I was going to get to see lots of new bands in Dublin and I was NOT disappointed. I'm glad that we got to see such new talent. It's true, maybe not new to some, but new to us.

Here are a few pictures of family from the festival:

And then a few pictures from some of the bands along with a few sound clips:

BUA

SLIDE IRELAND

DEREK WARFIELD & THE YOUNG WOLFE TONES
TROY MACGILLIVRAY
SALSA CELTICA

POGEY

And, let's not forget the dancers...........
RICHENS-TIMM DANCERS

Besides the headache that the weekend left with Cheryl - we had a great time.
Some of us kept later hours than others.....not mentioning any names!

I only wish my kClare would have been there, she would have loved it and it would have made it perfect! There's always next year.

Oh, and, is there anyone who thinks that "Darts and Whiskey" go together?
At all?
But check out those legs!

This is POGEY:

This is SALSA CELTICA:

Bua and Pogey are both from Nova Scotia, where we are visiting next month! Lots of Celtic/Scotish roots in Nova Scotia.

So, till next year.................SLAINTE !

Special Thanks...........

To my techno wizard of a husband who was able to retrieve all the pictures on my Lexar Memory Card from my camera today. I've taken about 2GB worth of pictures and sound bites over the past three days and at one point when I turned the camera on, it was asking me to reformat the card or else I couldn't proceed! How dare! It's always something, isn't it?

I ended up taking the card out and shooting the last few pictures on my camera's hard drive, with the thought that the Memory Card was just full.

The Wiz, had to download a program to retrieve the photos and in searching, discovered that people have said not nice things about Lexar brand of Memory Card on the internet. Again, "how dare!"

In all seriousness.....I appreciate the techno-talents of my husband....thank you!

So, getting on to the pictures.........on Friday, my department at work got together at the home of our supervisor for an evening of informal togetherness. It was a perfect night for us to enjoy the beauty of her botanical talents. I've never met anyone with such garden finesse. Here are just a FEW of the pictures I took in her garden and then some of the people that I work with. We all brought food and beverages and had a very relaxing evening.

Thank you for sharing with us...........
