It's Feis weekend, so..........PEOPLE, stop calling me at 8 in the morning, waking me up, trying to get your kid entered.......

You're always proud of your kids, no matter what! But when they struggle hard and then come out on top, well, you're especially proud. If I didn't already know that putting a big ole sign out in front of the house would embarrass the heck out of her, I'd put this out there!

Looks like a good bumper sticker, don't you think? Maybe I'll get a t-shirt. kClare, will you make me one!!!???

kClare is beginning her job with Illinois Shakespeare Festival in Normal, IL as the Costume Designer for the "Theatre for Young Audiences". The festival's theatre for young audiences will perform "AS YOU LIKE IT" this summer at ISF, and she's dressing them!

Add to that....she'll be moving soon to a new place on campus and, she's driving to Columbus to attend the baby shower of her best friend this weekend. We are going to meet her there to celebrate her birthday.

CONGRATS, GOOD LUCK, BREAK A LEG, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Baby Girl

Today was Emerald Village Book Discussion day.....I meet on the first Wednesday of each month with interested residents at Emerald Village for book discussion. Today was our last until we pick up in September.

They are a group of people that remind me every month that every person has something to teach you.

They are a delightful group of people who love to read and enjoy lively discussions.

We planted some trees around the house this month..........

SCRAPPY DAY #8

Saturday, June 12th
1:00 PM - 11:00 PM

You know what to do!!!!

At Scrappy Day 8 the folks from Sure Cuts A Lot will be on hand to give a demonstration of their new computer program.
.
Well, the girls are busy, busy, busy. (I really don't think I'd recognize them as my children if they weren't.) Where DOES that come from???

kClare is finishing up the 2nd year of a 3-year program at ISU....what a year for her! Final exams just about done.....projects winding up.....preparations to move underway......excitement for Illinois Shakespeare Festival building.

And, when she's not busy (when is that?) she's nurturing her new love of photography......this from a recent "photo shoot".And jJoy is touring with Second City's touring company.....traveling around to CT, NJ, NY, TN, MT, IL....everywhere except OH, unfortunately! But, this is something she's been striving for and she's having fun. Here are her fellow cast members.

As Mother's day approaches I recall when I first become a mother and I worried where the milk money would come from, how I'd ever be able to afford that very-important set of encyclopedias and when I'd lay awake at night wondering, "what kind of people will my children become?"

I cannot tell you how glad I am that all my dreams came true.

Our children are about the most interesting people I've ever met....people with the widest range of interests and abilities.

Never stop dreaming, girls! You make us proud every single day!
Good to have you back in town...............friends that go way back!

So, the birds are still around.......and it's time to give them their walking papers, or wing papers - or whatever!

They built a nifty nest in the crook of the awning and hatched their little family. All together now....AWWWWWW But come on, their pooping all over the siding!

I can't tell what's what....who's the Mom, who's the Dad, who's the baby! So, I took some pictures.

Now, I don't want to evict them too early, I want to be sure they've had sufficient time to do whatever it is they do before they fly off and raising their own families.

I mainly need to get the nest out of there before they decide to come back and lay another round of eggs.

SO, anyone know what kind of birds these are? Are these babies?
How long do I have to wait before I can take the nest down?

Come on, cheep in....I mean chime in!
Last night, we went to EJ Thomas Hall in Akron to see my cousin Kelly dance in Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance.

OK, so we've seen the show before.....we know the music.....we can do the dances ourselves.....but come on, LORD OF THE DANCE - with Kelly!

Gotta call it "priceless"

Enjoy the (illegal) pictures

Before the show, we had dinner as a group over at the Barley House in Akron.
Where Aunt D and I toasted our pints to Kelly!

And, after the show was over, there was a reception where Kelly's family and friends could celebrate her wonderful achievements!
Keep up the good work Kelly - have a blast!

Last weekend, we did our annual pilgrimage to Little Rock, Arkansas. ALWAYS a fun time. My nephew and his wife came with their lovely children and it's a delight to see them all. I look forward to spending the time with my brother and helping him out at his feis and with my sister-in-law and some of the fun things we get to do while together.

THANKS, always, for a wonderful time!

Enjoy the pictures!
