maureen and ryan get married............ 22 june 2012
My oldest niece got married recently in Portland, OR to wonderful Ryan. We took Dad out with us on the trip and he weathered all the travel and activities very well! He still has it in him....I am glad to be able to be there for him at these times! It's important to get him to as many things as he's able to, and as long as he's able, I'm gonna take him!
Our flight out to Portland was delayed due to mechanical troubles by about four hours. Luckily, the entire delay was spent in Cleveland (we actually thought about going home!) and once we got underway, it was just hop off here and board there......and again, Dad did great.
The wedding was just lovely....everything you would expect from our "natural" Mo! She and Ryan made a beautiful couple and the rain held off until late at night.
The ceremony was held at the First Unitarian Church in Portland and the reception at Portland's very popular McMenamin's.
Luckily, our travels home were very uneventful.
I took so many beautiful pictures.....I just couldn't decide which to post! Here are just a few.
getting away.............to fairview park............. 14 june 2012
So, I know, I know.....it's weird.
I won an fundraising auction basket that included a two-night stay at the Emerald Necklace Bed and Breakfast in Fairview Park. It also included a bunch of really other cool stuff. I got a nice gift certificate to a spa which I used just before we went to Mexico in February! A gift certificate to Stino da Napali restaurant in Rocky River and some other gift cards and wine, candy, candles, glasses, wine glass charms.....you know!
But, we had until June 30th to use the B&B and we just kept putting it off. Besides, how weird is it to stay at a B&B about 30 minutes from your own home?
But we finally made a plan to just do it. We took two days and just did a bunch of fun things we'd been wanting to do.
It was an OKAY place.....very charming.
But, we're not the B&B type really.
Here we are at "High Tea"!
The room was very charming. It had it's own bathroom and a king-sized bed.
It also had a sliding glass door out onto a deck overlooking the metroparks.
Dinner that night was at Stino da Napoli
The next day, Lude had a meeting to go to in Beachwood, so I went along with him and while he was there, I shopped at Beachwood Place. We then went downtown to the Marine Week activities.
The Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame
The Great Lakes Science Center.....Lude enjoyed that!
We took the train from the park over to the Terminal Tower
and went to the Tilted Kilt for some dinner.
And then we ended up at the Casino, which we enjoyed.
