So.....Dad fell this week.  Not what you want to happen to anyone, never mind someone who is 88 years old.  BUT, in true PaPa fashion, he is recovering and being the model patient wherever he goes!

He's recuperating from his leg surgery at Wellington Place in North Olmsted and then he will be sent home where they will take good care of him at the Emerald Village!

Thank God, he is well and will be up and getting around in no time!

Someone's watching out for him!
Where the heck is that "EASY" button when you need it ? ? ?
Makes me think it wasn't real and there really wasn't one!!!

Facebook is broke (for me anyway)....none of my posts show up.

Dad's broke......his leg anyway.

I'm broke.....my wallet anyway!!!!

But, as they say, "this too shall pass"

Easy button would make it easier though

Why do all the daddy long legs start showing up
when my daddy long legs is out of town!!!!?????

It's turning towards fall and all the little critters are seeking refuge.
I'm watching the hummingbirds dip deeply into the nectar to beef up for their long journey south!

Next weekend, we will shower our baby girl and her partner/fiance with well wishes as they head toward their union together.  They will be home for several days and that's always a blessing!

We have lots of family coming from out of town plus getting together with several from their bridal party, local family and friends.....it's going to be a lot of fun!

I miss my mother during these times especially!  She was my Pinterest!  She was always there to lend me a hand, make things beautiful and fun and now?  While I look forward with great anticipation, it just isn't the same without her.

My father is a darling......he was after me several times to be sure that he was at the shower!  I'm sure he knows that it's for women; at least this one is!  But, he didn't care!  He wants to be there and that's just darling.

So....that's where we're headed....wish us luck!

Bring it on!

Just when I believe I have it covered, I think of something else.

I am SO removing that thinking cap!

GOD'S COUNTRY

We've just left the best kept secret in all of Pennsylvania!
Where, you ask!   If I told you, it would no longer be a secret!
We traveled on Friday in the morning and arrived at the Nature's Inn around two where we met with friends Paula & John.  We try to get together with them for a weekend during the year, in addition to any of  the cruises we take together or the occasions where they will stop for a visit on their way from Michigan to New Jersey.  Last year, we were in Niagara Falls enjoying the bustling life of the most commercial street in all North America:  Lundy's Lane!!!

This time?  We were at the quietest, quaintest and beautiful Inn!  Only one year old, we were impressed beyond words at the lavish and "green" accommodations the Inn at Bald Eagle State Park had to offer.  Every space at the Inn was stunningly beautiful and I am certain these pictures just don't capture it justly.  The fact that it's nestled in between two mountain ridges and on the bank of a lake adds to the welcoming solitude of our adventure.  That's what our goal was:  find some place, half way between NJ and OH where we could "hole up" for a couple days and catch up.

We explored the little town of Lock Haven where we discovered a great Local smoked bar-b-q restaurant.  YUM.  Afterwards, we spent the night in our suite chatting and enjoying the Olympics.

On Saturday we enjoyed a long and relaxing breakfast at the Inn where we ate on the patio instead of in the dining room.  Lude found a flier about the Clinton County Fair so we decided to check it out!  $4, how bad can it be!?   We had dinner at  The Hublersburg Inn which came highly recommended by everyone!  It was a great place - very quaint!

We returned to the inn patio and played Dominos for a couple hours and then retreated to the room for a couple hours of conversation, planning for our next cruise and of course, the Olympics!

We explored more of the park on Sunday morning before heading home.

We will definitely be coming back here sometime soon!  We can't decide which would be best:  fall with the changing leaves or the dead of winter with the fireplace and the snow all around!!!!

Up next?  Maybe the Finger Lakes Region?

The Beach in the State Park

Howard Dam on the Lake near the Inn
