I'm behind! I know.

It's been a very interesting 75 days since my last post.
And, because of what's transpired since then, somedays are good, a lot are very bad.

Even the "good" days are ONLY "pretty good".

Today is a PRETTY GOOD day.
Lude and I are in Michigan seeing PINK!
We're in a hotel room (at this moment) that's SO big, I have no idea what he's doing at the other end of it!

Once in awhile, we look at each other after hearing a song or seeing a video and say "I'd pay money to see her!"    PINK is one.  I'd go to see ALL my favorites in concert, but I'm basically cheap and refuse to pay upwards of $200 to see a concert.  But, PINK was different (FYI, we'd pay money to see Jeff Dunham, too!)

So, we're in Michigan seeing PINK, we bought the tickets back in mid-summer.
But still, as excited as we are to see PINK, I am sad.

I should stop now.....just thinking about it makes me sad.

I'll be back, I promise (thank you all for your sweet "where are you/how are you" emails) and I'll post PINK videos which you KNOW you can't wait to see.

She was AWESOME

Every year before Lude starts his school year at LCCC, the college and it's various departments have a full on dinner meeting.  This year at that dinner meeting, Lude was awarded Faculty of the Year in the Business Division and we couldn't be prouder!  He's taught at LCCC for as long as I can remember.....maybe since just after Jessica was born?  Not sure!  At tonight's event he was honored at the dinner where they read about his life, family and work including his teaching career.  They read from some of the thousands of student reviews where he was lauded as "the best teacher of my entire college career" or "I wish I could have had someone like Mr Kemock for all my classes, I learned so much!"
Teaching is his talent!  It manifests itself in so many places of his life (right, girls?).  He's enjoyed every class he's taught, had some great student stories to tell, sometimes experienced difficulty balancing work, home and school and has sacrificed a lot to keep this.  But it's been a rewarding career and well worth every moment of the balancing act.
He got a certificate (ooooo, ahhhhh) and a lovely check (yay, vacation)!  But, one of the highlights of the evening was when Helene came over to his table and sat down with him and proceeded to gush about how "proud she was of him!!"   You see, Helene was his teacher over 41 years ago when he was at Lincoln West doing his student teaching.  I don't imagine that teachers have very many opportunities like that and she was quite taken aback.  Helene teaches English at LCCC.
And I mentioned once before on my blog that he was told of this special honor of Adjunct Faculty of the Year on the very day that his daughter was hired as Adjunct Faculty at Dominican University.

That has meaning beyond my comprehension.....

Congratulations, Ludeeeeee....Love You

Having dinner with Donna and Jeff is always a lot of fun.
Donna and I get together regularly for dinner or drinks but it's nice when we can include the guys.
We dined at one of our favorites, Rosewood Grill in Strongsville.

We're saying Good-Bye to the old homestead.
It's a house that Lude bought before we were married.
Where we lived after being married in 1976.
Where we lived when Jessica was born in 1978.
We moved from there to Olmsted Falls in January of 1979.

Since then....it has helped us with cars, houses, college, more cars, more houses, and more college!
Thank you little house!

Peter Pan with McKeely at Olmsted Performing Arts
was THE BEST.....
I think we both enjoyed it very much.
Lude met us at Red Robin afterwards.
Then, McKeely went to do some shopping with us and to
our new condo to help us with all the measurements!
It was a super fun day!!!

The Jewelry party was a huge success!  I never really thought it would be as great as it was.
Patty from church is a Premier Jewelry Consultant and helped me so much when kClare was getting married by giving me lots and lots of jewelry to try on with my dress.  I didn't end up buying anything from her because Premier's items are a little more casual and chunky than I was looking for.  So, I thought it would be a good time to have a party for her and say thank you for all she did.
Then, she left Premier....but turned me over to Kelly who was AWESOME!

Thanks everyone who came!

The "gang" came for a picnic today.  We get together a couple times each year and this was one of them.  It's always nice to catch up and see what everyone is doing.

KEMOCK PICNIC July 28, 2013
Always a lot of fun....lots of family....lots of children....except mine!  Boo-Hoo!

Here are a few pictures!

Saturday was one of the first days we've been able to get Dad to come out of the house since he fell.  I think he is just very fearful anymore.  He is finally using the walker.  I would have liked to see him use it the last time he fell and even the time before that but it just didn't happen.  Poor guy.

But, we went over to the Parish Pavilion for the picnic, Mass and bonfire!  It was a pretty good time, nice to see everyone since we've been away from singing for the summer and it was nice for Dad's friends to get a chance to see him.  They've all been worried about him!

Here are a few pictures from Saturday....

They had a make shift "dunk tank" which Father Neil so gracious agreed to be victimized.

Indoor corn hole was a huge hit.

Dad and Lude enjoyed the ice cream from the ice cream truck that came and stayed for several hours.

Dad was texting a little bit...good thing he isn't driving.

The evening ended with a wonderful, casual Mass.  The bonfire followed - we took Dad home.

I posted a few pictures from the girls album on my "Papercrafting" board.....check back and I will be adding more as I go along.

I am thoroughly enjoying my week of vacation....
Besides my fabulous visit to Chicago....
I got to do lots of scrapbooking, Lori and I went to a crop just last night.  The girls wedding album is nearly complete and I will post some pictures as soon as I find the flashdrive I have them on!!!  Good thing they're printed!

We're getting ready for the big KEMOCK PICNIC on Sunday.  Looking forward to seeing lots of family from far and near!

Tonight we're looking forward to some Buds (or Coke!) with our buds around the campfire!

AHHHHHH.......this is what it's like to be retired!

What a great time I had with our Chi-Town Chicks!
It wasn't the ideal time to visit, but it was all that I could spare!
kClare is very busy working the National High School Institute's Cherub Theater Program at Northwestern University in Evanston.  The college is very close to their house, so it works well.  It's an insanely intense month long program but I can really tell is rewarding for her and she's enjoying it.
Here's a link to their website:

So, Louisa and I got a little bit of one on one time.  We all went out to their church on Sunday for service and then kClare took us to Dominican University so that we could see the beautiful campus.
She's pretty excited about that as well.

We then had dinner with Cynthia and Jon Hallas before kClare had to go to work.

Monday, while they were both at work and school, I made dinner for them and just vegetated!

On Tuesday before I drove home, I accompanied kClare to the ENT where she is beginning the long and complicated process of getting her sinuses, ears and allergies in check!
I'm glad I was there with her.

And then.....the drive home that's always so much longer on the way home!
