Saturday was one of the first days we've been able to get Dad to come out of the house since he fell. I think he is just very fearful anymore. He is finally using the walker. I would have liked to see him use it the last time he fell and even the time before that but it just didn't happen. Poor guy.
But, we went over to the Parish Pavilion for the picnic, Mass and bonfire! It was a pretty good time, nice to see everyone since we've been away from singing for the summer and it was nice for Dad's friends to get a chance to see him. They've all been worried about him!
Here are a few pictures from Saturday....
They had a make shift "dunk tank" which Father Neil so gracious agreed to be victimized.
Indoor corn hole was a huge hit.
Dad and Lude enjoyed the ice cream from the ice cream truck that came and stayed for several hours.
Dad was texting a little bit...good thing he isn't driving.
The evening ended with a wonderful, casual Mass. The bonfire followed - we took Dad home.
I got to do lots of scrapbooking, Lori and I went to a crop just last night. The girls wedding album is nearly complete and I will post some pictures as soon as I find the flashdrive I have them on!!! Good thing they're printed!
We're getting ready for the big KEMOCK PICNIC on Sunday. Looking forward to seeing lots of family from far and near!
Tonight we're looking forward to some Buds (or Coke!) with our buds around the campfire!
AHHHHHH.......this is what it's like to be retired!
It wasn't the ideal time to visit, but it was all that I could spare!
kClare is very busy working the National High School Institute's Cherub Theater Program at Northwestern University in Evanston. The college is very close to their house, so it works well. It's an insanely intense month long program but I can really tell is rewarding for her and she's enjoying it. Here's a link to their website:
