This past weekend was Feis weekend and it was a lot of fun.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the job I do for the Feis, but I
HATE, HATE, HATE the last two weeks. A little stressful.
But, come Feis day when everything is done and ready, I'm
good with it. It brings my family together which I like!
I'm pleased that my family is interested in keeping alive
the Irish dancing traditions. It's one thing to dance, have
a fancy dress and wig, travel and everything that goes with
the glamour side of Irish dance, but without all the hardworking
people of the Feis committee, there really would be nothing
for the dancers. Sure, they'd still know how to dance, but if we didn't
give up all our time and energy to put these gigs on,
I think it would be a completely different world.
So, don't just SAY you're an Irish dancer...
Give back....give up your time like someone
gave up for you.
And, on Feis weekend, we always get together with
family to have a big meal. Sometimes one or two of
us are missing, but this is the first time since Dad passed
that all 12 of us have been together. Yes, that's right! 12!
Here's a 2-page layout from our dinner on Friday night!
