I can't believe how the summer is flying by!  We're busy all the time and when I feel it's too much, I think of the wintery days that we are stuck inside. This coming weekend is July 4th weekend and that means a trip to Chicago! kClare is beginning Cherubs and I'm leaving tomorrow morning to spend the week with them....visit, cook, eat, watch Maeve, and just have fun with the girls! Maeve is evolving every day and I can't wait to see her even though I just saw her a little over a week ago! Our facetime chats and daily pictures from the girls help us to keep up with her. I get to go to a doctor visit, so I'm excited about that! In the meantime, I've been working on some scrapbook pages.  Mostly old pictures - so have a good laugh!

When Lude puts a hole in one of his dress shirts, it's usually the elbow, and I shorten the sleeves and send it to Salvation Army. But, thanks to the beauty of PINTEREST, I found this idea to turn a man's dress shirt into a baby dress. I think that it came out so cute and I can't wait for Maeve to wear it!  I gave it to them on their Father's Day visit!

Father's Day Visit
kClare, Louisa and Maeve were here for a Father's Day visit this weekend! We always loved having the girls home, but now that Maeve is in the picture, it's just priceless and I want them to come home more. I guess if they lived closer this wouldn't happen, but we find ourselves sitting next to her and staring at her the entire time! Lude took some vacation time while they were here and we did lots of fun things together. Phoebe came to visit Mary and Lude also, so we stuck pretty close to home. The girls like our auto mechanic, so they got an oil change while here, we did some shopping for Maeve and did a lot of cooking and visiting. It's very hard to think about going to a restaurant with a baby when you love to cook in your own kitchen. It will always be our first choice. The weather was great, we spent time on the patio and everyone got a little of their favorite foods during the several days they were here. We have been enjoying all the daily pictures that they send to us and each one says to us, "she's growing up so quick." She's at a particularly frustrating time because she can't sit up and hold herself up, but she wants to. She wants to sit up all the time but when you hold her up, she flops forward! She loves sound, very much enjoying a Sesame Street toy that makes all different sounds. She still doesn't "want" the bottle and the girls are okay with that because kClare can take her to work. In her Dockatot, she can sleep on her tummy, so she sleeps so much better. She takes her naps on her tummy and then at night, she's tired enough to be okay on her back. Mornings are absolutely delightful, she babbles, coo's and responds just to a smile on your face without any other prompt. Evenings are more difficult; she gets a little fussy. She's still loving her bath, but didn't take so well to the water in the ducky pool. We filled it and left it in the sun to warm up, but still, we think it wasn't a temperature she enjoyed.  But, we had to say so long this morning! I would be much sadder if I didn't know that in about 10 days, I will be visiting with them for a week.  And, then again a week later!

Here are a few pictures from their visit!

Laraine's Excited to Meet Maeve
Happiest of Father's Days to the Daddy of my girls....all my girls.
You've always been a wonderful Dad to Jess and Kathleen and now, a great Father-in-law to Louisa.
AND NOW?  A great Grandpa to little Maeve!
Never change who you are, ever, no matter what!

And, to my Father who lives with the angels!
I know you're looking down on us and smiling.
And, I know how much you would just love our
new little Maeve!  I miss you!
